The Ottawa Art League held its 60th Annual Town & Country Amateur Adult Art Show on Saturday May 12 at Jeremiah Joe Coffee in Ottawa. There were 24 participating artists with 81 entries in various media including watercolor, acrylic, pottery, metal, pastel, and mixed media. The show was judged by Bob Holmes, an award winning watercolor artist and retired art educator. The Town & Country Show was sponsored by the Ottawa Art League and the chairperson was Rebecca Simpson of Streator, vice president of the Ottawa Art League.
All entrants received blue, red, or white ribbons. All blue ribbon winners will be invited to participate in the State Town & Country Show in Champaign this fall. The League also awards rosette ribbons to the best four entries overall. Carol Englehaupt took the top honors with a Best of Show for her ink “In the Garden.” First place went to Helen Kinkin for her acrylic painting “Bluebirds in Spring,” second place went to Richard Natanek for his photo “Pelicans on the Illinois River,” and third place was awarded to Carol Crane for a graphite drawing entitled ”Taking Up Residence.”
