POPLAR GROVE – North Boone posted a 34-6 victory over Mendota in freshman-sophomore football action on March 29 at Poplar Grove.
The Trojans fell behind 22-0 midway through the second quarter before they scored their lone touchdown on a Justin Randolph 60-yard pass to Ryne Strouss with 1:58 left before halftime.
North Boone scored single touchdowns in the third and fourth frame to complete the tally.
Mendota totaled 161 yards in the contest, with 138 coming through the air. Randolph completed 7 of 13 passes. Strouss had three receptions for 90 yards.
North Boone churned out 407 yards of offense with all but 41 coming on the ground.
