EARLVILLE - Fritz Nelson and Ted Zimmerman will serve as parade marshals for the Earlville Lions Fest parade on Saturday, June 23 in Earlville.
Nelson and Zimmerman are long time Lions Club members who have been active in leadership rolls. They are also veterans, both having served in the Korean War. They recently were among the many veterans who were able to take the “Honor Flight” to visit Washington, D.C.
The Lions Fest Parade will begin to line up at noon in the east parking lot at Earlville School. The parade will step off at 2 p.m. and the parade route ends back at the school parking lot.
Pre-registration is not required to enter the parade. Youth ball teams are encouraged to enter as well as anyone planning to enter a vehicle in the Mini Cruise Show, which will assemble following the parade on Ottawa Street downtown. The car show will last until 6 p.m.
Various activities will take place in the park all day and everyone is encouraged to come back to the park for the Blue Grass music and games for youth. The evening will conclude with a pork chop dinner, draw down, and free dance in Dodge Park Pavilion with music by “Peace Road Band.” Refreshments will be sold in the park; no coolers will be allowed by individuals in the park.
