PERU – The North Central Illinois (NCI) ARTworks Mad Hatter Ball will take place on Friday, Oct. 13 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Celebrations 150 in Utica.

“Everyone is cordially invited to a night of music, art and merriment,” said Mary Janusick, co-chair of the event. “The annual arts celebration will feature performances and artwork by local youth artists in music, dance and visual arts and the educators who inspire them, including student/teacher performances and special guest performances.”

Janusick said the Mad Hatter, played by local celebrity Greg Tullis, will host the event. There will be a parade of “Mad Hats” specially designed and handmade by local artists and the introduction of the 2017 “Queen of ARTS.” Janusick hinted that people would be able to vote for one of the contestants for the crown in September. The event also features a DJ, live music by Darrell Data, a balloon prize pop, games and raffles.

“This will be a great night of music and whimsy to celebrate the arts and shine a spotlight on the talented youth in our communities,” Janusick said.

Seating is limited. Tickets may be ordered online at www.nciartworks.com or purchased at A&B Paint Supply/Pittsburgh Paint, 1321 Wenzel Road, Peru; Janko Realty, 2011 Rock St., Peru; and Music Suite 408, 408 Fifth St., Peru. The non-profit NCI ARTworks supports and is expanding the arts community in LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam counties through artistic collaboration, educational outreach, and art space development. Mad Hatter Ball proceeds benefit ARTworks programs and activities, including the new Community ARTspace under construction in the Westclox building in Peru.
