GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Nancy Lee Peterson, 68, went to be with the Lord and join her parents and beloved sister on Sept. 17, 2018 in Grand Rapids, Mich.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Amble Cemetery, Howard City, Mich. A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Mendota. The arrangements were handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Traverse City, Mich.
Nancy was born in Wheaton to Benjamin and Betty Peterson.
Survivors include her husband, Bradley Darington; her sons, Benjamin (Shelley) Peterson, Stefen (Grace) Peterson, Anders (Korrie) Peterson and Charles (Liza) Peterson; her daughter, Rebecca Frediani; her great niece and nephew, Madison (Dan) Legris and Eric Jordan; her unofficially adopted son, Jon Mathesius; 11 grandchildren, Hannah Johnson, Taylor Peterson, Elizabeth Peterson, Jasmin Peterson, Gabriel Peterson, Dylan Peterson, Jacob Peterson, Hailey Peterson, Mason Peterson, Rachel Frediani and Charlotte Peterson; and a great-grandchild, River, who will never forget the love their grandmother gave them.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Charlotte.
Nan is remembered by her family and friends as the most gracious and loving individual they ever had the pleasure of knowing. From the time she was very young, she dedicated her time and energy to help those in need. She was especially a voice for those who did not have one. She constantly made life a fairytale adventure, much to the delight of the children that always surrounded her. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to have manners but enjoyed watching etiquette go out the window. She loved her niece, Elizabeth, like she was another sister. Nan raised her children in Mendota and made many friends. She spent her most recent years in the north woods with her loving and devoted husband, Bradley. She will be forever loved and missed.
