EARLVILLE - Myra Flickinger, 81, of Earlville passed away Nov. 10, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Earlville United Presbyterian Church in Earlville with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at the Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville.
Myra was born March 20, 1938 in Earlville to Gerald and Viola (Rhodes) Shurlow. She married Keith E. Flickinger on March 27, 1965 in Earlville.
Survivors include her husband of Earlville; two daughters, Kari (Don) Castelli of Ottawa and Lisa (John) Karlsson of Paw Paw; four grandchildren, Amber (Cheston) Phillips of Ottawa, Dr. Tanner Eiben of Ottawa, Packard (Torie) Campbell of Paw Paw and Breanne (Marvin) Fultz of Mendota; two great-grandchildren, Aria and Gunner; five siblings, Lois Selvig of Oglesby, Celia (Dan) VanDeventer of Oswego, Donald (Judy) Shurlow of Indiana, Richard Shurlow of Missouri and Nancy Seavers of Wisconsin; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jerry Shurlow; and one sister, Judy Winchel.
Myra was a very active member of Earlville United Presbyterian Church, where she was part of the Presbyterian Women’s Group. She was very involved in Topps, the Earlville Historical Society, WOW, the cemetery board and Earlville Business Association. She was an election judge and an organ donor. She was talented in crocheting and knitting, winning many Grand Champion Ribbons at the Sandwich Fair. She worked at Alexander Lumber. Keith and Myra owned and operated Flick’s Hardware.
