FRANKLIN GROVE - Monica C. Berkeley, 87, formerly of Sublette, passed away Aug. 22, 2018 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Sublette. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will continue until the service.
Monica was born June 9, 1931 in Sublette to Charles and Anna (Lauer) Becker. She married Gene Berkeley on July 23, 1949 in Amboy. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Survivors include two daughters, Estelle (Dave) Shippert of Byron and Linda (Michael) Coley of Dixon; two sons, Richard (Lavonne) Berkeley of Byron and Allen (Lil) Berkeley of Eldena; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Sally Pry.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Delores Weber; one brother, Charles Becker; and one granddaughter, Jeanna Coley.
Monica was full of energy and strong in her faith. She enjoyed people and taking long walks and was always a caregiver. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
