Mendota’s victory came from Alex Stremlau at No. 1 singles, who won in a tiebreaker.

Stremlau and Natalia Salinas were winners in singles play, while victorious doubles teams were Zoe Finley-Bresley, Barkman-Cortez and Escatel-Mariah Figueroa.

Mendota’s squad competed in the Sterling Invitational on Sept. 18.
Stremlau claimed first place at No. 1 singles with wins over Sterling (8-6), Princeton (8-0) and Newman (7-5, 6-2).
The MHS doubles team of Barkman and Cortez took third place at No. 2. They defeated Rockford Harlem (8-5), lost to Sterling (8-4) and defeated Newman (6-4, 7-6).
Escatel had a 1-2 record at No. 2 singles, while Bresley-Zoe Finley at No. 1 doubles were 0-3 in their matches.
