JOLIET – Mendota High School senior Luke Ross kept his bowling season alive after the Trojans competed in the Plainfield (North) Boys’ Regional Bowling Tournament on Jan. 18 at Town & Country Lanes in Joliet.
The top 10 individual scorers not on an advancing team earn berths to the sectional round and Ross was the leader among those bowlers with a score of 1325.
Ross will move on to the Lockport (Twp.) Sectional to be contested on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Strike and Spare II in Lockport. The competition begins at 9 a.m.
The top four advancing teams include Lockport (Twp.) at 6191, Oswego (East) at 6126, Oswego at 6018 and Plainfield (South) at 5985. Mendota finished ninth in the team standings with a 5191. There were 13 teams in the competition.
The individual regional champion was Isaak Izzi of Oswego (East) with a 1434.
