MENDOTA – The Interact Clubs and FFA from Mendota High School hosted a Tree-Plenish event. Tree-Plenish helps students plant trees to offset the amount of paper used in the school.

The goal was 200 trees and the end result was 367 trees planted/delivered/given across the area including Peru, LaMoille, Earlville, Mendota, Compton and Paw Paw. There were 35 volunteers from students, alumni, staff and community families.

The Interact Club is the high school portion of the Rotary Club of Mendota with over 30 members. It is a thriving service organization run by students. Alisa Stewart, Mendota High School science teacher, sponsors the club.

“It was an awesome day, a lot was accomplished and the storms held off for us,” noted Stewart.
