MHS track teams open season at Sterling Indoor

STERLING – Mendota’s boys’ and girls’ track team had their first meet of the season in the Sterling Indoor Meet at Sterling on March 11. Other teams in the meet were Dixon, Freeport, Galesburg, Rock Falls and Sterling.

For the Trojans, the 4x200 meter relay junior varsity team posted the highest finish in third place with a time of 1:50.72. Runners were Aaden Castle, Robert Botello, Devin Desoto and Sebastian Carlos.

For the Lady Trojans, Grace Wasmer turned in a third-place effort in the long jump with a distance of 13-5.
