MENDOTA - Families residing in the Mendota Township High School district who have a child planning to attend MHS in the fall as a 9th grade student are reminded of the required Trojan Welcome event on Tuesday, Feb. 13.

The Trojan Welcome will have an open-house format, running from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Families may arrive at their convenience at any time between 5 and 6:15 p.m. Families will submit a completed enrollment form, may speak with representatives from clubs and activities, and will then meet with school officials to indicate preferences for 9th grade elective courses. The process will take about 15-20 minutes per family. The event is not the time for registration or fee payments.

Each student must be accompanied by at least one parent or court-appointed legal guardian who resides in the MHS district. Families of students who live with anyone other than a custodial parent or court-appointed legal guardian should contact MHS student services prior to the event. Families should bring the student’s certified birth certificate and the completed demographic forms, which have been mailed to all Northbrook and in-district Holy Cross 8th grade families.

Families of in-district homeschool students who intend to attend MHS in the fall, or any family with a conflict for that date, must contact the school prior to the event.

Questions may be directed to the guidance department at (815) 539-7446, ext. 548.
