GRANVILLE – Several area players participated in the Illinois Valley girls’ and boys’ All-Star basketball games on April 1 at Putnam County High School in Granville.
In the girls’ game, Mendota’s Haylie Barrera scored seven points in helping her team to a 75-56 victory. Jasmine Kahly of LaMoille-Ohio had two points for the losing squad.
In the boys’ contest, two Mendota players were on the winning team in a 136-125 shootout victory. Joe LaShonse pumped in 14 points and Cameron Phalen added 13 markers.
