The Mendota boys’ tennis team squeaked out a 5-4 victory at Pontiac on May 9.
The Trojans won four of the six singles matches, with Cameron Phalen, Blake Stamberger, Paco Romero and Erik Cortez coming out winners.
Christian Salinas and Romero teamed up to win in doubles for Mendota.

The Trojans hosted the Tom Corrigan Invitational on May 13 at the MHS courts. Princeton captured the team title with 30 points, while Mendota finished tied for fourth with 16 points. There were eight teams in the event.
Stamberger and Ivan Figueroa each finished fifth at number one and number two singles, respectively.
MHS’s number one doubles team of Salinas and Romero took third place, while the number two team of Preston Lewis and Zach Rinaldo was seventh.

Phalen had Mendota’s only win at number one singles.
