MHS netters cruise to pair of 4-1 wins


MENDOTA – Mendota is off to a fast start on the tennis court as it had an easy time in disposing of Rochelle and Streator to begin the season.

The Trojans were 4-1 winners over Rochelle on March 27 at the MHS courts.

Preston Lewis won in singles play for Mendota, while the Trojans swept the doubles competition. Forming teams were Paco Romero-Favian Arteaga, Aaron Brandner-Noah DeLong and Alexis Perez-Zach Rinaldo.

The Trojans defeated Streator, 4-1, on March 28 at the MHS courts.

Lewis captured his singles match, while the same doubles teams of Romero-Arteaga, Brandner-DeLong and Perez-Rinaldo also were victorious.
