Plano handed Mendota a 2-1 defeat in varsity girls’ soccer action on March 20 at Plano.
The Lady Reapers took a 1-0 lead with a goal just four minutes into the match.
The scored stayed that way until the second half when a corner kick from Mendota’s Piper Artman connected with Amellia Bromenschenkel, who beat the Plano goalie to knot the match.
But Plano scored on a late free kick to claim the narrow victory.

Mendota dropped a 4-1 decision to Princeton on March 23 at the MHS field.
The Tigresses scored a pair of goals in the first five minutes of the contest and were never headed.
Mendota, which trailed 3-0 at halftime, got its lone goal from Daisy Arteaga.
Artman was in net for the Lady Trojans.

The Lady Trojans got back in the win column with a 3-0 shutout at LaSalle-Peru on March 25.
Bromenschenkel scored two of Mendota’s goals with assists from Arteaga and Artman. Artman added the other goal on a free kick.
Goalkeeper Bianca Espinoza kept L-P off the board.
