OTTAWA – Mendota’s cross country team traveled to Catlin Park in Ottawa on Aug. 29 to race against runners from Hall, Ottawa and Plano.
In the girls’ race, Mendota’s top finish belonged to Devin Wade, placing seventh in a time of 26:33. Other Mendota finishes were Mia Artman (10th, 28:10), Gabrielle Brown (13th, 29:07), Jesenia Avila (14th, 29:31) and Tiffany Preston (32:17).
The top team score belonged to Plano (35), followed by Hall (38), Mendota (63) and Ottawa (89)
Forty runners competed in the boys’ race. Ty Connelly had Mendota’s top finish (22nd, 22:28). Other Mendota runners included Trent Stamberger (25th, 23:10) and Andrew Stamberger (26th, 23:12)
Hall defeated Ottawa, 37-48, as the only two team scores in the boys’ race.
