Mendota prevailed over Dixon in a dual golf meet, 183-215, on Aug. 28 at Lost Nation in Dixon.
Taylor Joyce posted the low round for the meet with a 42, which was also good enough for meet medalist honors. Austin Robinson was next on the card for the Trojans with a 46, followed by Jack Beetz with a 47 and Zeke Hessenberger with a 48. Colton Scheppers (50) and Ethan Hanaman (51) completed the Mendota lineup.
Dixon did not field a full team in the junior varsity match. Mendota’s team shot a 231. Competitors were Luke Ross (56), Noah DeLong (58), Lane Howard (58), Liam McGann (59), Shea Doughty (62) and Kevin Lewis (71).

The Trojans kept up their winning ways with a 176-191 triumph over Byron on Aug. 30 at Prairie View Golf Club in Byron.
Scheppers checked in with a 41 for the low score among Trojans golfers. He also earned meet medalist honors. Hessenberger was just one shot back with a 42, while Taylor Joyce carded a 44. Hanaman, Robinson and Beetz all totaled 49 for Mendota.
Byron managed a split on the day by defeating Mendota’s junior varsity team, 208-220. Five freshman-sophomores also played for the Trojans.
Competing for the JV squad were Ross (51), DeLong (54), Howard (57), Doughty (58), Tristan Joyce (59) and McGann (72).
Freshman-sophomore players were Mateo Escatel (55), Logan Brandner (55), Aaron Reddin (60), Gabe Arteaga (62) and Kody Becket (70).
