MENDOTA - Several Mendota High School staff members were commended for their work on the graduation ceremony, which was held outdoors at the MHS athletic field on July 18.
Speaking at the July 22 board of education meeting, Superintendent Jeff Prusator expressed his appreciation to custodians Andy Knowlton, David Stiles and Dustin Kent, who spent a great amount of time working hard to help make the graduation ceremony a success. He also commended tech director, Scott Siri, who was in charge of live streaming a video of the ceremony for those unable to attend. Prusator said the live stream was very well done with multiple camera angles and the sound was as good as being there in person.
Prusator also recognized Matt Meyer, who served as DJ and Todd Doyle, senior class sponsor. “It took a lot of people to pull it off,” Prusator noted. “The senior class wanted to wait so they could have a graduation ceremony with all of them gathered together. They made the right decision and we were very pleased to be able to do that for them.”
Board president Jim Lauer also thanked Principal Denise Aughenbaugh and Prusator for their work making the graduation ceremony possible.
Two personnel items were approved during the meeting. The board hired Mary Schallhorn as choir accompanist and they rescinded the maternity leave for Paula Baker, who will return full time without a leave.
