MENDOTA – Registration for the 2022 Mendota Youth Football League season is set for Friday, July 22 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the practice facility behind the Mendota High School bus garage.
If you are unable to attend the in-person registration, forms are available at the Mendota City Clerk’s office at 800 Washington St.; First State Insurance at 715 Washington St.; and Kurt Bruno State Farm Insurance at 1103 Main St. The cost to participate is $80. Thirty dollars will be returned if you volunteer to work at various jobs at any of the home games.
The first practice for the 2022 season will be Monday, Aug. 1 at 5:30 p.m. at the youth football practice facility.
Players who report for the first practice should wear shorts, T-shirt, football shoes or gym shoes. Also, players are encouraged to have their sports physical completed by their first day of practice.
Youth football is for anyone entering fifth through eighth grade in the upcoming school year. All youth who are in this age range are welcome to participate. A player cannot be 15 years old by Nov. 1, 2022.

A youth football camp will be held on three consecutive Mondays, July 11, 18 and 25, at the Mendota High School athletic field. Camp time is from 7-8:30 a.m. each day, and those interested in participating can report to the first day of camp.
The camp is for incoming fifth- through eighth-graders. The cost is $20.
Skills, drills, base offense and defense will be emphasized at the camp. Instructors will be members of the high school football coaching staff and youth football coaches.
