MENDOTA – On Monday, April 24 at approximately 3:05 p.m., agents with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team (TRIDENT), along with officers from the Mendota Police Department, continued a lengthy investigation into heroin sales in the Mendota area.
As a result of the investigation, Tara M. Wiskur, 28, of 506 First Ave., Mendota, was arrested in the 1200 block of 13th Avenue and charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (heroin), a class 1 felony.
During the investigation, Wiskur allegedly delivered more than one gram of a substance containing heroin to an undercover agent. Agents discovered that Wiskur had more heroin at her residence, 506 First Ave., Mendota. A search of the residence was conducted and agents recovered 16 tins (approximately 1.6 grams) of purported heroin along with other items of packaging and processing heroin.
Wiskur was transported to the Mendota Police Department. She was processed and later transported to the LaSalle County Jail where bond was set at $1 million (10 percent).
TRIDENT consists of the LaSalle, Streator, Princeton, Oglesby and Mendota police departments, as well as the LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam county sheriff’s departments.
