OGLESBY – Emme Bottom of Mendota has been elected president of the Illinois Valley Community College Student Government Association following recent sophomore elections. Vice president is Eva Smush of Joliet.
Madison Miranda of DePue was elected student trustee, Helena Ogle of Streator, treasurer, and Nicolette Kendall of Streator, secretary.
Emily Walker of Ottawa won election to the sophomore programming board. Student Activities Coordinator Cory Tomasson said, “Although the voter turn-out was relatively low, this electronic process worked very smoothly this year.
“I know many of the individuals that have been elected, and I think that they will do a great job of representing and engaging our student population over the next year,” he added.
