MENDOTA – Clayton J. Wood, 51, of 1509 Milwaukee Ave., Mendota, was arrested on a two-count class 2 felony warrant for the offense of aggravated criminal sexual abuse at 1:50 p.m. June 29. The warrant was issued by the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Wood is accused of sexual misconduct with two children under the age of 13. Wood was transported to the Mendota Police Department for processing and transferred to the LaSalle County Jail where he was being remanded on $75,000/10 percent bail.
The arrest of Wood was a cooperative effort between the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office, Department of Children and Family Services, LaSalle County Child Advocacy Center and the criminal investigations unit of the Mendota Police Department.
