MENDOTA – Several Mendota Just For Kix dance teams earned first, second, or third place ribbons at the Together We Dance Competition in Decorah, Iowa. The competition was held at Luther College, March 25.
The event featured 179 performances and included 1,565 performers. Mendota brought 11 teams to the event competing in Kick, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical. Eight teams earned ribbons.
The Junior level team won first place ribbons in Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. The team also earned a third place ribbon in Kick. Other teams earning ribbons were Mini Hip Hop, first place; Wee Hip Hop, second place; Wee/Mini Lyrical, second place; and Mini Jazz, third place.
The Mendota Just For Kix director is Rachel Moore. Head instructors and assistants are Bianca Bugarin, Maren Wise, and Nya Ranel.
Mendota Just For Kix will attend their next competition in Rochester, Minn., April 7-8. The teams will perform their competition routines at a community Spring Recital on Saturday, April 22 at Mendota High School.
