MENDOTA - Mendota VFW Post 4079 honored the local 2019 Voice of Democracy winner, Bonnie Hall, at their Jan 7 monthly meeting. VFW Post Commander Joe Arjes presented Hall with an award certificate and a $100 scholarship prize.
The Voice of Democracy participants were asked to present written and audio recorded essays on the 2019 theme, “What Makes America Great.” Hall’s entry was selected as the local winner and forwarded to compete at the VFW’s District 9 level.
Hall, a junior at Mendota High School, was accompanied by her family at the meeting.
