Mendota H.S. announces Homecoming Week activities


MENDOTA - Mendota High School will celebrate Homecoming week Sept. 17-22. This year’s theme is “Candyland.”

The schedule of daily activities and dress-up themes follows. 

Monday, Sept. 17: Class Color Day (freshman-green, sophomores-black, juniors-blue, seniors-red)

* Homecoming assembly in the stadium, Royalty announced. Period 7 will dismiss at 1:25 p.m. and the assembly will begin as soon as students are seated.

Tuesday, Sept. 18: Fashion Disaster Day

Wednesday, Sept. 19: Candy Land Day

Thursday, Sept. 20: Meme/ Around the World Day

Friday, Sept. 21: Purple and Gold Spirit Day

* 1:25 p.m. Pep assembly in the gym. School will be dismissed after the assembly.

* 2:10 p.m. Regular bus routes leave from the front of the building and two buses will depart from the back of the building and take students downtown for the parade.

* 3 p.m. Parade downtown - the parade starts at Sullivan’s, travels south on Wisconsin, east on Washington Street, north on Illinois Avenue, west on Monroe Street, then north on Wisconsin back to Sullivan’s.

* 5 p.m. Sophomore football game vs. Dixon High School

* 7 p.m. Varsity football game vs. Dixon High School

Saturday, Sept. 22: 8–11 p.m. Homecoming dance in the gym with entertainment provided by DJ Freddy.

Visit Facebook/Mendota Township High School for complete assembly, parade, games and dance dates and times. Students will be dismissed early after the assemblies on Monday and Friday.
