Mendota headed to Rock Island Alleman soccer regional

ROCK ISLAND – The Mendota boys’ soccer team will take its number one seed to the Rock Island Alleman Class 1A Regional Soccer Tournament to be held Oct. 11 and Oct. 14 at the Alleman Sports Complex.

The tournament will begin with a play-in game between Princeton and Riverdale at a date yet to be determined. The winner of that match will advance to the semifinals to battle the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 in Rock Island. The other semifinal-round game will pit Alleman against DePue.

The two semifinal winners will meet for the regional championship at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14.

The champion from the Alleman Regional will advance to the Mendota Sectional to meet the winner of the Peoria Christian Regional at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. The other sectional contest will be between the regional champions at Quincy Notre Dame and Serena.

The sectional final is slated for Saturday, Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. with the winner moving on to the Chillicothe IVC Supersectional to face the Champaign St. Thomas More Sectional champion on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
