ABOVE: Volunteer Lee McCauley helps 4-year old Maxx Flores of Somonauk ring the bell on the 4978 Steam Engine during Railroad Crossing & Country Fair Day. The event was held June 16 at the Union Depot Railroad Museum and Breaking the Prairie Museum in Mendota. Both museums were open for the day and tours were available of the steam engine and vintage rail cars. Other activities included Gandy Dancer and street train rides, bluegrass music, and an old-fashioned train robbery.
