MENDOTA – The Mendota Trojans won their third regional soccer championship in four years after taking a thriller over DePue-Hall, 3-2, on Oct. 18 at the MHS field.
The Trojans trailed 1-0 at the half, but rallied in the second half.
Mendota advances to the Peoria (Christian) Sectional to face either Quincy (Notre Dame) or Beardstown on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. The game will be played at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria.
Mendota made it to the regional title game after a 10-0 shutout win over Port Byron (Riverdale) on Oct. 16.
