PERU – The Mendota boys’ and girls’ cross country teams will compete in the St. Bede Class 1A Regional to be held Saturday, Oct. 23. The girls will race at 10 a.m. and the boys will step off at 11 a.m.
Other schools in the regional include Amboy [Coop], DePue, Granville (Putnam County), Henry (H.-Senachwine) [Coop], Kewanee (H.S.), Kewanee (Wethersfield) [Coop], Manlius (Bureau Valley), Newark, Oneida (ROWVA) [Coop], Ottawa (Marquette), Peru (St. Bede), Princeton, Sandwich, Seneca, Spring Valley (Hall) and Toulon (Stark County).
The first seven placing teams and the first five runners who are not members of the advancing teams in each regional will advance to sectional competition at the site to which they are assigned. In addition, in the event the sixth, seventh or eighth place overall individual finisher in the regional is not on a qualifying team, such sixth, seventh or eighth place overall finisher in the individual race shall advance from the regional to the sectional meet.
Those advancing will participate in the Oregon Sectional on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Oregon Park West. The girls’ race is at 10 a.m. and the boys will compete at 11 a.m.
