PRINCETON - Mary C. Sondgeroth, 67, of Princeton passed away Jan. 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, Jan. 9 at Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Princeton with Deacon John Murphy, officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-noon prior to the service on Jan. 9 at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be required. Burial will take place in Troy Grove at a later date.
Mary was born Jan. 5, 1953 in Pontiac to Marguerite Kidd. She married Vernon Sondgeroth on Nov. 11, 1972 at Peterstown Church, Mendota.
Survivors include her husband of Princeton; four children, Lisa (Jeff) Fultz of Ohio, Lori Sondgeroth of Princeton, Ryan Sondgeroth of Princeton and Gina (Victor) DaCosta of Palm Coast, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kayla Griffin, Dustin Fultz, Zachary Tuft, Wyatt Fultz, Savanna DaCosta and Vanessa DaCosta; two great-grandchildren, Bennett Mathesius and Autumn Smith; her great-aunt, Dorothy Wallace of Troy Grove; many sisters-in law, brothers-in law and many very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her step-father, Vincent Lyons; and two brothers, David Lyons and Dale Kidd.
Mary graduated from Mendota High School. She worked at Prairie View Nursing Home for six years and at Sullivan’s Food for 31 years and loved her customers. Mary loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to travel and take pictures to keep memories. She was very kind and enjoyed helping and giving to other people.
