TROY GROVE - Marwood J. Kidd, 67, of Troy Grove died Sept. 19, 2018 at Heritage Health, Mendota.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Peterstown with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial was at the Troy Grove Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Marwood was born Jan. 6, 1951 in Mendota to Marshall and Margaret (Hall) Kidd.
Survivors include three sisters, Joyce (Peter) Newhalfen of Henry, Marietta (Donald) Fiste of O’Fallon, Mo. and Margaret Arlene Prentice of Troy Grove; and 11 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Marwood was a graduate of Mendota High School, Illinois State University andBlack Hawk College where he studied to be a respiratory therapist. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Dimmick prior to its closing. He was employed by the Troy Grove Sand Plant for 25 years and by Ottawa Hospital for 20 years as a respiratory therapist. He was also the mayor of Troy Grove for 34 years.
