MENDOTA - Maribelle L. Fitch, 88, of Mendota died Aug. 7, 2018 at Heritage Health, Mendota.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14 at First United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 13 at the church with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling the arrangements.

Maribelle was born June 20, 1930 in Avon to Allen and Nellie (Shinkle) Lincoln. She married George Fitch on June 20, 1948 in Avon. He preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2015.

Survivors include one son, Allen (Leesa) Fitch of Mendota; three daughters, Marsha (Joe) Watkins of Peoria, Kathy (Michael) Pierce of Earlville and Evelyn (Ron) Full of Mendota; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise Byerly of Knoxville; one sister in-law, Margaret Crandall of East Moline; two brothers-in-law, Earl Fitch of Hannibal, Mo. and Albert (Suzanne) Fitch of Orion; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and five brothers.

Maribelle was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mendota. She was a very active member of Azure Chapter of Eastern Star in Mendota and later a member of Star of Rochelle Chapter 1030 were she served as Worthy Matron numerous times. She was very proud to hold the office of Grand Adah of the State of Illinois in 1987. She was employed at Beitsch’s Greenhouse, Mendota Community Hospital business office and FS Feeds as a lab tech. The job she enjoyed most was loving and caring for her family.
