SUBLETTE - Margaret Eileen Full, 97, of Sublette passed away peacefully Aug. 18, 2018 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Sublette with Rev. Randy Fronek officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Sublette. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Aug. 25 at the church. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling the arrangements.
Eileen was born Sept. 8, 1920 to Leo and Frances (O’Donnell) McConville on the family farm near Earlville.She married Lester Full on July 23, 1947 at St. Theresa’s Church in Earlville. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include four children, Shirley (Richard) Vivian of Dixon, Gerald Full of Sublette, William Full of Walton, and Jean (Lane) Harris of Clermont, Fla.; one daughter-in-law, Holly Full of Sublette; seven grandchildren, Christopher Vivian, Jeremy Vivian, Aaron Full, Andrew Full, Katherine Full, Meghan Streit and Luke Full; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Jessen of Ottawa and Shirley Smith of Madison, Wis.; and one brother, John McConville of Earlville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Donald Full; and four siblings, Mary Graham and Leo, Donnell and Emmett McConville.
During World War II Eileen was a spot welder at Conkey’s in Mendota. After working there, she taught at Bell School in Waltham Township where 11 of the 13 students were her relatives.Her married life was spent in Sublette where she was known for her cooking and gardening skills as well as her cinnamon rolls. She worked as a teacher’s aide at St. Mary’s School in Sublette and after the school closed, taught religious education. In addition, she worked part-time at Sublette Farmer’s Elevator during harvest time. When Lester passed away after 36 years of marriage, Eileen often traveled with groups from First State Bank, and enjoyed square dancing, bowling and reading books from the library in Amboy. She was very proud of her Irish heritage claiming that she was a member of the F.B.I. (Full Blooded Irishman).
Memorials may be directed to the Mendota Lutheran Home, Illinois Valley Hospice or Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
