OHIO - Lois M. Minnick, 84, of rural Ohio died July 31, 2018 at Heritage Health in Walnut.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2 at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rosary recited at 4:45 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 3 at the funeral home followed at 10 a.m. by Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Shaw, celebrant officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Ohio.

Lois was born Aug. 1, 1933 in Atkinson to Charles and Mayme (Wirth) Plasschaert. She married Robert “Bob” Minnick on Oct. 1, 1955 in Sheffield.

Survivors include her husband; their children, Linda Minnick of Denton, Texas, Charles (Tracey) Minnick of Clinton, Iowa, Deb (Kevin) Guinn of Graham, Texas and Kevin (Christine) Minnick of Princeton; one sister, Sharon Calsyn of Sheffield; one brother, Harvey Plasschaert of Decatur; eight grandchildren, Drew Minnick, Tyler Minnick, Beau Minnick, Kalin Westerman, Jordan Minnick, Jarod Guinn, Grace Minnick and Lila Minnick; and one step-grandchild, Tanner Guinn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one granddaughter, Lillian Minnick.

Lois was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio and the O.C.C.W. She enjoyed gardening and canning. Her greatest love however, was that for her family and taking care of them.
