MENDOTA – The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Upper Illinois Valley invites participants to join their Event Leadership Team (ELT) in planning the 2019 event. Meetings will take place at 6:07 p.m. at St. John’s Church in Mendota, 607 10th Ave.

The meeting dates will be Nov. 7, Dec. 12, Jan. 16, Feb. 20, March 20, May 1, May 29, June 19, and July 10. These meetings provide event updates and planning. Team captains are encouraged to share their fundraising progress and successes, make recommendations, learn how the community benefits from funds raised, and learn how cancer survivors and caregivers will be honored. Team captains are a vital part of the overall team success and their insight is appreciated.

The Relay For Life movement is the world’s largest fundraising event to fight every cancer in every community. Thanks to an ambitious team of volunteers and participants, Relay For Life of Upper Illinois Valley is celebrating its 10th anniversary. With this anniversary, they set their sights on raising over $1 million to help fight cancer and provide assistance to cancer survivors right here in Illinois. Their 2019 fundraising goal reflects this challenge.
