CEDAR POINT – Illinois Licensed Beverage Association (ILBA), Chapter 76, has scheduled a class for the State’s mandated BASSET training. The class will be held at the Corral Inn located in Cedar Point on Sunday, Aug. 4. The three-hour class begins at 2 p.m.

Cost is free for ILBA members and their staff. Non-member cost is $20 per person. Advanced registration is required. To register, call Dan Burke at (815) 228-7710. Businesses may also register for membership at the event.

Based on the population of LaSalle County, the state began mandating BASSET training certification as of July 1, 2017. Certification is good for three years. New employees are required to obtain their certification within 120 days of being hired.

“Our classes are taught by people established and respected within the hospitality industry. They are state certified and encourage attendees to ask questions concerning their individual situations,” states Kevin Steder, President of ILBA Chapter 76. “We also include the most up to date information regarding laws and regulations that affect our industry.”

Free BASSET training is just one of the many membership benefits offered by ILBA as part of their mission to educate businesses engaged in the sale and service of beverage alcohol products in Illinois. The local chapter meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month at different member locations.

The next meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the Corral Inn, Cedar Point with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. For more membership information, contact Kevin Steder at (815) 343-3485.
