MENDOTA - Leslie K. Stewart, 69, of Mendota passed away Aug. 21, 2017, the result of an auto accident.
Memorial visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25 at the Schwarz Funeral Home, Mendota.
Les was born July 21, 1948 in Ames, Iowa to Roger N. and Betty Lou (Windom) Stewart. He married May Leung in Winnipeg, Canada on Feb. 28, 1971.
Survivors include his wife of Mendota; three daughters, Carrie (Chris) Bauer of Mendota, Gwen (Jason) Manthey of Lincoln University, Penn. and Katherine (John) Woods of Peru, one son, Neal (Robin Lusietto) Stewart of Mendota; and one granddaughter, Charlotte Bauer.
He was preceded in death by one son in infancy, Roger Gim; one sister, Elsie Kamper; and his parents.
Les served in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Vietnam War. He received a degree in electronics from IVCC in 1993 and was owner/operator of Mendota Machine Tool Service. He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader. He loved science fiction, Star Trek and ANYTHING related to cars.
