Lego lovers wanted for new program at Graves-Hume Public Library

Posted

MENDOTA - Graves-Hume Public Library is offering a new family Lego program starting in March. To take part, just design your own Lego creation and it will be put on display in the Children’s Department at the library. This program is open to everyone. There is no need to register and a library card is not required.

All Lego builds and all Lego sizes will be accepted for this program - even Duplo. Simply bring in your own creative Lego build during the drop-off time from March 1-5. Each child participating in the program will receive a Lego crayon mold and a Lego coloring challenge sheet. They will also get a Lego story book thanks to Friends of the Library, which sponsored the purchase of the books.

Carolynn Ohlendorf, Children Services Manager, looks forward to offering this program in Mendota. “Lego Club was a huge draw in our library, it was always one of my favorite programs to host,” she said. “I love their imagination, I love their excitement, and I love and miss our standard Lego Club - so why not bring Lego Club home and foster literacy as well.”

Lego builds may be dropped off March 1- 5 and they will be on display at the library through March 27. Lego designs can be picked up March 29-April 3. All ages are encouraged to participate.
