PANTEGO, Texas - Lawrence “Larry” Lee Lauer, 59, of Pantego, Texas, formerly of Mendota, passed away peacefully July 26, 2019 at home.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial were held on July 31 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Arlington, Texas. Burial with military rites was at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Larry was born Jan. 16, 1960 in Mendota to Edward and Roberta (Amfahr) Lauer. He married Lauri Gerrard on Nov. 20, 1999.
Survivors include his wife, Lauri; his mother, Roberta Lauer; two brothers, Mike Lauer and Scott (Wendy) Lauer; two sisters, Diane (Doug) Barr and Marry (Frank) Rottman; one son, Daniel; four daughters, Elizabeth Blaiszik, Hannah Blaiszik, Emma Lee Lauer and Dakota Lauer; and six granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father and his first wife, Linda Marie Lauer.
Larry attended Mendota High School and graduated in 1978. He was a veteran of the U.S Air Force serving in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. During his service he earned six medals and was ranked as a Technical Sergeant. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Supervalu for 24 years. Larry enjoyed cooking, spending time on his computer and he absolutely loved watching the Green Bay Packers.
