PERU – Sub-zero temperatures did not keep the stork away from Illinois Valley Community Hospital New Year’s Day when Amanda Fritz and Rett Waldenmyer of LaSalle became the parents of the first baby of 2018 to be born at IVCH.
Fritz gave birth to Logan Grey Waldenmyer at exactly 9 a.m. Monday. The new Illinois Valley resident entered the world weighing seven pounds and four ounces. He was 21 inches in length and was delivered by certified nurse midwife Barb Tieman, a member of the staff of the IVCH Women’s Health Care Center.
