OGLESBY – LaSalle County Retired Teachers Association held an executive board meeting on June 24 at the Dickinson House in Oglesby.
Deb Torri’s Foundation Advisory report included the fact that there are now 80 IRTA Area 1 scholarship applications pending.
Janie Hoffmann and others discussed preparation for the next LSCRTA Newsletter.
Highlights from the IRTA Area 1 Conference and information for the upcoming fall general meeting were discussed.
Plans for the summer social meeting, registering for the Oct. 14-15 IRTA State Convention in Springfield, and LSCRTA delegates for the IRTA State Convention were also discussed.

The summer social meeting will be on July 22. There will be a visit to the Reddick Mansion in Ottawa followed by lunch at the Lone Buffalo Restaurant.
The Fall 2019 General Membership meeting will be on Sept. 23 at Festivities Unlimited in Ottawa. Guest speakers for this meeting are IRTA Executive Director Jim Bachman and TRS Board of Trustees member Doug Strand.
