OTTAWA – Due to the Illinois Department of Public Health mitigations regarding the rising COVID-19 infections in LaSalle County, LaSalle County Treasurer James L. Spelich said his office has decided to postpone its delinquent tax sale until further notice. It will be rescheduled at a later date.
Because of this postponement, the Treasurer’s office will continue to accept payments for tax bills until the tax sale has been rescheduled. The office will only accept certified funds: cashier’s check, money order or cash. Payments will also be accepted at the drop box on the east side of the County complex on Etna Road. You are asked to not leave cash in the drop box.
Please note that the interest changes on the 16th of each month for the first installment and again after the fifth of each month for the second installment. If you are unsure of your updated delinquent amount, call the Treasurer’s office at (815) 434-8219.
