OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department is actively monitoring the COVID-19 situation and working to protect the public’s health. The health and safety of LaSalle County residents is the highest priority. For this reason, LCHD programs have been scaled back to allow staff to adequately respond to the public’s needs.
The Family Case Management program home visits were suspended as of March 16 and will resume as guidance is received from IDPH. Off-site WIC clinics are in the process of being cancelled and those sites will be closed as of March 23. WIC clients requiring an appointment will be called to reschedule at the main office, 717 Etna Road, Ottawa. During the COVID-19 pandemic, LCHD will be allowed to handle many WIC required needs by phone. The WIC closings include the Streator, Mendota and LaSalle WIC offices.
Those scheduled for immunization clinics will be contacted to reschedule within the daily immunization schedule. This will reduce the risk of a largely attended clinic. The annual larvacide training scheduled for March 25 has been postponed.
LCHD thanks the public for their patience and understanding during this rapidly evolving situation.
