MENDOTA - The LaSalle County Democrats will give free rides to the polls all day Tuesday, Nov. 6. Polls are open 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. and rides will be available all day throughout LaSalle County.
The service is being provided at no cost by a team of dedicated volunteers. Anyone, regardless of party affiliation, may request a ride by calling or texting (815) 585-5354.
Voters who have not yet registered to vote may do so on Election Day at their polling location; they need only provide two forms of ID (one must be proof of current address). For more information and to confirm polling location, go to www.iwillvote.com.
The 2018 midterm election is expected to be an historic event – early voting numbers in LaSalle County have been record-breaking, and many of the contests are expected to be very close. In a democracy, it is very important that everyone be given the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.
Rides are also available for early voting. All early voting takes place at 707 E. Etna Road in Ottawa. Early voting hours are:
Saturday, Nov. 3: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
