LaMoille Park hosting 'Playin' in the Park' on Sept. 17

LaMOILLE – The LaMoille Park is hosting the Hot Rodders’ Reunion Car Show and Pinewood Derby Challenge in conjunction with the annual “Playin’ in the Park” fundraiser on Sunday, Sept. 17. The car show and pinewood derby races start at 11 a.m. The car show is open to all makes and models, and the pinewood races are open to all youth and adults. Derby cars built years ago or cars recently built are allowed.
The “Playin’ in the Park” event will start with a community worship service in the Park at 10 a.m. The afternoon music entertainment will be provided by Greenfield Station at 1 p.m. The full menu food stand and cold beer service will be available all day. The menu includes pulled pork nachos or sandwich, ribeye sandwich, hamburgers, hot dogs, appetizers and ice cream treats. Featured activities include a vendor fair, silent auction, live auction, and a 50/50 drawing. Many hand-crafted and home-baked food items will be auctioned.
The “Littles Play Time” starting at 11 a.m., will include bouncy houses, sensory activities, crafts, train rides and “Farm Fun” touch a truck/tractor. The afternoon “Activities for All” at 1 p.m. includes foam fun, water slide, a community-wide tractor scavenger hunt, temporary tattoos and henna tattoos.
The LaMoille Park at 206 Gurney St., LaMoille, was established in 2012. It continues to develop the park with a group of local volunteers. The proceeds of this event will be used toward building a basketball/sport court at the park for community use.
