LAMOILLE – Due to dry conditions, the LaMoille and Arlington Fire Departments have issued a burn ban effective immediately.
“We just haven’t had any rain,” said Fire Chief Brent Becker, LaMoille Fire Department.
Until further notice, no open burning will be allowed. This includes all leaves, yard waste, trash, and recreational fires such as bonfires.
Becker also reminds farmers to make sure their combines are clean and all bearings on machinery is well maintained. “Out in the fields is where a lot of fires start,” he said.
Until the ban is lifted, Becker reminds residents to use proper disposal of materials.
