ROCK FALLS – Mendota’s girls’ track team finished third in a triangular meet at Rock Falls on April 12. The host Lady Rockets claimed the top spot with 81 points, followed by Fulton with 60 and Mendota with 29.
The Lady Trojans did not finish first in any of the events. They did take second place in five events. Lydia Willis was second in the shot put and discus, while other individual seconds went to Morgan Gonda in the 400-meter dash and Devin Wade in the pole vault. The 4x100 meter relay team of Teghan Tillman, Phalen Hessenberger, Abby Phalen and Gonda also took second-place honors.
