MENDOTA - Michelle Hansen of Heritage Health Therapy & Senior Care gets ready to kiss Peaches the skunk after winning this year’s Kiss the Critter contest, Feb. 22. Hansen raised a total of $4,054 to claim the top spot in the 18th annual fundraising event, which benefits Mendota Area Senior Services (MASS). In second and third place were Cathy Sterchi of Mendota Lutheran Home and Jana Trembly of OSF Saint Paul Medical Center, respectively. The total amount collected by the 13 participants this year was $10,691. Kiss the Critter has raised over $99,000 for MASS since its inception in 2001. (Reporter photo by Kimberly Meaker)
