MALTA – Kishwaukee College will hold its annual Homeschool Visit Day on Thursday, May 18 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center. Participants should park in Parking Lot A and enter through Doors 16 and 17. This event is free and open to the public.

Michelle Rothmeyer, Vice President of Student Services, noted that Kishwaukee has welcomed homeschool students to campus for many years and that the College has seen an increase in the number of homeschool students enrolling recently.

“Last year, we held our first Homeschool Visit Day and it was a great success – over 50 people came to campus. We received such positive feedback from the families who attended,” she explained. “I think what struck most families was the variety of options on a college campus that are offered with the same personal touch that is at the center of the homeschool experience. Students can take classes here to enhance their homeschool academics, as well as prepare for the university or workplace. We look forward to welcoming new and returning families to his year’s event.”

The Homeschool Visit Day begins with check-in from 8:30-9 a.m. and will include a welcome address by Dr. Laurie Borowicz, President of Kishwaukee College; a presentation on Dual Credit options; a Student Panel; and a campus tour. There will also be a Resource Fair with information on everything from financial aid to free tutoring.
